For nearly 100 years, Atlas Rail has partnered the development of the rail industry throughout the world.
Founded in England by Rederick Allen in 1913, and representing the peak of British engineering, the Atlas Engineering Company achieved early renown for the performance, strength and reliability of its wheel lathes, presses and purpose built rail workshop equipment.
Atlas Rail's new engineering and maufacturing facility is located in Melbourne, and is the base for our world wide operations.
A total plant area of 12,500 square metres under roof provides "state of the art" CNC machining for large capacity milling, precision turning and grinding, advanced assembly bay and tryout facilities, product development areas, and a certified metrology laboratory fully equipped with CMM's and advanced measuring systems, all traceable to International Standards.
In accordance with the rigorous demands of ISO9001, our aim has been to control the manufacturing and design process from beginning to end.
